cpo building blocks
CPO Building Blocks is a program where trained AmeriCorps members visit the homes of CPO residents twice a month. CPO Building Blocks helps parents be their children's first and most important teachers by talking, reading, and singing to their children every day. Children ages 0-5 who haven't started school yet can join. Families that participate in CPO Building Blocks receive a new book every month for each child enrolled. AmeriCorps members give parents easy tips for reading to young children. All program activities are easy to do and respect parents as their child's first teacher. Once enrolled, continued participation in CPO Building Blocks is rewarded. As a thank you for supporting their child's literacy goals, children receive a bonus reward after their 3rd and 9th lessons.
